I recently spent two weeks in Texas for work, and as it was my first time in the Lonestar State, there were plenty of things to do and see. When I found out I would have an entire weekend to explore, I took full advantage and headed straight to Waco. Here is my photo diary of a delightful Saturday spent at one of the most adorable places I could find.
What’s in Waco, you may ask? The Magnolia Market! That’s right, Chip and Joanna Gaines have created a beautiful little place to spend a Saturday with friends or family. It was perfectly quaint and contained as much farmhouse-chic as you could possibly imagine. The main store was enormous and had everything you could think of, from kitchen gadgets, to notebooks, to jewelry and bags. When you walked down the stairs into the open portion there were all things souvenir-like including clothing, hats, totes, and more, all with Magnolia logos and cute little quotes.
Outside the building was a large grass lawn with corn hole boards and kickballs. Surrounding the lawn were about 12 different food trucks. Hot dogs, burgers, BBQ, salads, sandwiches, bakery items and more were all set out for your choosing. I decided to indulge in a chopped brisket sandwich, after all, I was in Texas! I also ordered a delicious southern style sweet tea from the Alabama Sweet Tea Company!
On the far side of the lawn, next to the iconic silos, there is a small Seed store with a decent sized garden. The garden housed flowers and shrubs and also had a shaded bench, a wooden teepee structure, and a cute little shed.
Near the entry/exit from the street, there was a small building that had a line out the door and zigzagged under a canopy. It was the Silos Baking Co. I ordered a couple cookies and they did not disappoint. I also got word from a colleague that the lemon-lavender cupcakes were quite tasty!
Everything seemed as if it were there specifically for you to take a picture and send it as a post card. I took full advantage of that, and I hope you enjoy my photos!
Have you been to Magnolia Market? If so, leave me a comment of your experience and of what you enjoyed the most!
